Emtee, Sjava, Saudi and Ruff have reunited for their highly anticipated album, The Trap Temptations.

FOUR of Mzansi's most celebrated music stars have reunited, and fans can't get enough of it.

Hip-hop heavyweights Emtee, Sjava, Saudi and Ruff have officially released their long-awaited collaborative album, The Trap Temptations, and it's already making waves across streaming platforms.

Reunion making waves

The album, which dropped on Youth Day, 16 June 2026, racked up more than 1,3 million streams in just two days on Spotify, Apple Music, Boomplay, YouTube and Audiomack.

The project marks a major reunion for the artists, who played a key role in shaping South African hip-hop and Afro-soul over the years.

Rather than looking back, the musicians said the album reflects how much they've grown, both personally and professionally.

The album was recorded during 2025 at various music camps held in the foothills of the Drakensberg, Malelane in Mpumalanga and Joburg.

More than just music

Ruff said the project is about more than just music.

"This album represents our brotherhood and we're also trying to give our people a picture of how much we have grown musically as a collective," he said.

The four artists became known for blending trap music with African storytelling, melodies and emotional lyrics, creating a unique sound that resonated with fans across the country.

Emtee said their journey is far from over.

"People watched us change the sound and the culture, but what matters most is that we're still here, still growing and still making real music that connects with people," he said.

A full circle moment

For fans who have followed their careers from the beginning, the album serves as both a reminder of their influence and a glimpse into their future.

Sjava said their life experiences helped shape the project.

"This project reflects everything we've experienced as artists and as people. Every experience we went through individually added something meaningful to the music and to the connection between us," he said.

Saudi described the album as a dream fulfilled.

"I've been working with Ruff, Emtee and Sjava for more than 15 years. My biggest fear has always been coming to the end of my career someday without this project having been a part of it. This is not just a full-circle moment for me, it's a dream come true," he said.

With streaming numbers continuing to rise and fans celebrating the reunion online, The Trap Temptations is proving that authentic storytelling, brotherhood and growth still resonate with music lovers.
