POPULAR musician Sjava is grateful to have reached 10 years in the music industry and is still going strong.
The 42-year-old singer from Bergville in the KZN Midlands said reaching this milestone is no small feat, especially in such a challenging industry.
The Uyena hitmaker noted that the music scene is always changing and constantly tests him but being able to grow and remain loved means a lot.
Sjava has partnered with Ukhozi FM for his 10-Year Celebration Tour, which kicks off at the Durban ICC on Saturday, 11 April.
He will then perform at the Steve Tshwete Banquet Hall in Middelburg on 1 May, the SunBet Arena in Tshwane on 15 June, and Carnival City in Ekurhuleni on 23 October.
Sjava told Daily Sun that partnering with Ukhozi FM for his 10-year celebration tour is a beautiful moment for him.
"Radio has always been a big part of my journey, and that's where many people first connected with my music. So, to partner with one of the biggest radio stations in the country for something as special as my 10-year celebration, it's a full circle. We thank Ukhozi FM for being part of this special celebration.
"I feel grateful more than anything. Ten years is not a small thing, especially in this industry. A lot changes, and a lot tests you. The fact that I'm still here, still growing, still loved, means a lot to me, and that's all possible because of God and the people who have been supporting me. I don't take it for granted. It motivates me to keep pushing and to keep being honest in my music," he said.

He said this tour is very personal to him and is not just about performances, but a journey through his music and the different seasons of his life.
"People can expect a mix of everything: the songs that introduced me, the ones that carried us through, and the new songs as well. We are trying to do a proper experience for people, something they don't just watch but feel."
Sjava said he has many highlights from his 10 years in the music industry, but some that stand out are the connections with his supporters and seeing people sing back the songs word for word - that never gets old.
"Touring different cities and growing from small venues to bigger stages, that has also been very special. More than anything, just being able to tell my story in my way and people accept it with love."
He stated that he doesn't have a secret to having sold-out shows and releasing hit songs, but for him, it's about being real and making music from a genuine place, about his experiences and his emotions.
"I think people connect with that honesty. The shows are never the same. Each show is different in its own way, and I respect the people who come out and try to give them the best experience.
"When you build that kind of relationship with your supporters, they show up for you every time, and I'm thankful," he added.
