Meet Mr Gold Finger 2.0!

MPHO Temane loves gold, and his fingers are proof of this.

The 46-year-old from Soshanguve, Tshwane, who is popularly known as Daddy Marijuana, is always seen wearing gold rings on his fingers and chains around his neck.

He also boasts five gold teeth.

He claims the gold pieces were left by his late dad and are his pride and joy.

“Anyone who steals my gold will be harshly punished and pay heavily. I visited izangoma, who protect my gold from thugs. Anyone who steals it will return it immediately because that person will be feeling severe pain and his fingers will be swollen,” he said.

Daddy Marijuana is also an artist. He sings and is also an actor and a comedian.

The father of three claimed his rings and chains are real gold.

“People know me because of my gold. I was born for gold. I inherited this gold from my father. This is my special asset in life. I am wearing gold worth a lot of money.”

“My late dad Nathaniel Maluleka, who died in 2005 in Mamelodi, Tshwane, used to wear the same gold items and that gold was close to his heart. I’m not rich, but this gold makes me rich. I’m poor in nature but rich in gold,” he said.

He pleaded with tsotsis not to steal his gold as he didn’t want to feel sorry for them.

Daddy Marijuana said he’s never thought of selling his jewellery.

“When I walk in the streets, I feel blessed and these rings are not for sale,” he said.

He said even women are asking him for rings, and he’s reluctant to give them.

His friend, Victor “Sexymangp wa Soshanguve” Phenya, who is an up-and-coming musician, said: “His gold is real and original. I trust my friend, no one will dare steal his gold from him.”

He said his friend is brave and creative. He added that people often assume his friend is a criminal, but that’s not true.
