She stands accused of murdering her boyfriend, 31-year-old Xichavo Ntsanwisi at their apartment in Colnbrook Estate, Noordwyk, Midrand, in October 2025.

The case has experienced several delays while the state awaited crucial forensic evidence, including DNA and fingerprint analysis.

During a previous court appearance, prosecutors indicated they were still waiting for the outstanding forensic results before the matter could proceed.

Mabasa has pleaded not guilty to the charge and remains out on R10 000 bail.

The case has attracted widespread attention, with Ntsanwisi’s family regularly attending court proceedings as they seek justice for their loved one.

With the forensic investigation now apparently nearing completion, the matter is expected to move forward when both parties return to court on 10 July.
