OTHER Motorists watched in horror as the car flipped and rolled several times on the road.

As it rolled it ejected three occupants and they landed on a cold tar on R23.
The driver survived with serious injuries and he’s now in hospital receiving treatment.
A horrific crash on the R23 has left three people dead and another fighting for his life in hospital after a hatchback rolled several times, flinging its occupants onto the cold tar.
The tragic accident, which claimed the lives of two men and a woman, happened on the R23 Heidelberg Road southbound, just before the R550 crossing outside Tsakane in Ekurhuleni on Monday.
“It is alleged that the driver lost control of the light motor vehicle, causing it to roll violently multiple times before finally coming to a standstill in the middle of the road island,” said William Ntladi, spokesman for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Services.
The scene was so gruesome that authorities had to temporarily shut down the R23 northbound to traffic, as the lifeless bodies of the victims were lying scattered across the road.
Ntladi, spokesperson for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), confirmed the tragedy.
He said paramedics declared the three passengers dead at the scene, while the critically injured driver was rushed to a nearby hospital by ambulance for urgent medical care.
City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) spokeswoman, Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa, said police are investigating the cause of the horror crash.
The bodies of the deceased have been transported to a government mortuary.
