The fact that we use past tense when we talk about the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic means things are slowly going back to normal.
Although we aren't completely off the hook, there's light at the end of the tunnel.
The eased lockdown restrictions present the opportunity for us to pick up the pieces and rebuild our economy.
The biggest damage to the economy was done when more than two million people lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
Such a huge number of people having lost their jobs means many businesses also collapsed.
Those still operating have lost many customers.
In the event that any business is not getting sufficient customers, the companies consider staff reduction. Life is difficult in families where their breadwinners have lost their jobs.
Our fight to rebuild our lives should start by continuing to follow the eased lockdown restrictions and to get vaccinated.
Winter is fast approaching, and we might experience another variant of Covid-19. We are a limping nation, trying hard to walk straight again.
The last thing we want is another hard lockdown.
So let's take the jab.
