Parents are good at teaching their children a lot of things, but not enough about emotions.
Just as we learn how to read and write, we also need to learn how to correctly identify emotions, understand them and handle them appropriately. Start teaching kids about emotions from an early age so that they know how to react in different situations.
Children learn and understand better while still young.
Talk about emotions and feelings. Make sure your child understands all the different kinds of emotions.
Practise makes perfect and parents must lead by example.
Children learn about emotions in the same way that they learn other things such as reading, writing, riding a bike or bladder control: through trying things, practising new habits and getting feedback from people around them. As parents, we must assist our kids to master their feelings in a better way.
