Security guards are doing a great job in our everyday lives.
It’s a pity that some of us take them for granted.
I’d like to salute all the security officers around the country.
They work in risky situations unarmed and sometimes face armed criminals. Their efforts don’t go unnoticed.
When we go to places we don’t know, it’s the security guards who give us directions.
The security officers are the ones we trust to direct us to the offices we want to visit. Imagine going to the interview and failing to arrive on time because you got lost around the buildings. But such incidents rarely occur when you ask help from security officers. They also help us with street names and where the taxi ranks are.
They help us feel safe at ATMs. Asking for help from strangers is too risky but we feel safe with the security guards.
They also guard buildings and keep your car safe while you are working in the office.
They deserve respect.
People should not make the mistake of thinking that working as a security officer means you are not educated.
Some of those officers have qualifications but could not find jobs.
Others chose the security jobs because they like helping people.
It’s a known fact that many private security companies force their workers to work long hours and don’t pay them well.
There is no reason for the public to look down on the security guards.
