SA needs tough policing - Andries Monyane, Vaal

I commend the security cluster from different spheres of policing for arresting those criminals in Rosettenville, south of Joburg.

I commend the security cluster from different spheres of policing for arresting those criminals in Rosettenville, south of Joburg.

It was like a horror movie, which at the end resulted in death.

It reminded us of a similar crossfire incident in Jeppestown back in 2006 where criminals shot and killed police officers.

I still struggle to understand that criminals would fire at the police and shoot at a helicopter.

Clearly, that was an open confrontation and a direct indication of no retreat.

If that can happen to those who are supposed to defend and protect us, then criminals do not care about law-abiding citizens.

What we have witnessed is concerning.

In fact, criminals are undermining law enforcement agencies and care less about the damage inflicted n this country's image.

It is of such a conviction that regardless of the danger involved police have to act.

We should not allow the criminals to govern parallel with the police.

Otherwise, we render this country ungovernable and soon we will end up at the graveyards.

Let us pray for our police.
