As a concerned resident of Bushbuckridge, I want to understand how Eskom operates as a service provider.
Can Eskom give clarity on how it rolls out load reduction and also tell us what is the reason for it?
I have seen load reduction in Soweto where the schedule is set for the whole year, and it runs according to the said dates.
Here in Bushbuckridge, Eskom decided to implement load reduction without the poor community's knowledge.
My question to the CEO, Minister Gwede Mantashe and the National Energy Regulator of South Africa is: Does Eskom bully people in the rural areas to keep the lights on for people in urban areas? Many municipalities owe billions of rands to the power utility.
Why are they not subjected to load reduction, like those in poor areas? Eskom is taking us for a ride.
