I would like to congratulate one of our own artists, DJ Black Coffee, for winning his first Grammy.
As a patriotic South African, I feel very proud about his achievement.
He has put us on the global map.
This is a good lesson to us that we must continue to support our local artists.
Gone are those days when European and American artists were supported at the expense of our own artists.
Charity begins at home.
I know that we are living in a global village and it's not wrong to follow or support foreign artists, but we must not do so to the detriment of our own musicians.
The time has come for Africans to shine.
Let's show the whole world that we are capable.
This has also debunked the myth that anything African is mediocre.
Well done Black Coffee for representing us well.
