It really baffles me why the whole of the Buffalo City Municipality, especially Mdantsane and East London, is struggling to deal with amaphara.
These thugs bring trains to a standstill for long periods of time. This happens under our watch as communities.
Traffic lights that are supposed to help with smooth traffic flow are currently vandalised.
The gates at cemeteries are taken and the communities just stand back and watch.
Electrical cables are looted each day.
Communities are living in fear as amaphara also invade their homes and steal taps.
Now I am asking: What is the role of the municipal police?
- I also noted with disdain that every area has a scrapyard wherein all this anarchy is done. No one is taking care of these mushrooming scrapyards. Communities need to wake up before its too late.Vukile Maki Mdantsane
