AFTER being dumped by top radio presenter Mzokhona "Mzokoloko" Gumede, Vuma FM will await a permanent solution instead of replacing him immediately.
The commercial radio station based in Umhlanga, north of Durban, recently suffered a major blow when Mzokoloko, who was presenting the afternoon drive show, left in March and rejoined Gagasi FM at the beginning of April. He left the station with three months remaining in the season, which is set to finish in June.
Mzokoloko is now co-presenting the midday show on Gagasi FM alongside Luyanda Khambule.
Since his departure from Vuma FM, the station has been using other presenters as weekly stand-ins to co-present the afternoon drive show alongside his former co-presenter, Nombuso Mkhwanazi.

The station has revealed that it will continue using stand-in presenters in Mzokoloko's vacant position until announcing a new presenter in July.
During the first two weeks of April, the station used Chris Mfeka as a stand-in to present the show with Nombuso, while the following week, Mankini Mgenge presented the show with her.

Vuma FM station manager Vusi Shangase told Daily Sun that for now, they will be using stand-ins. Shangase confirmed that they had Chris for two weeks and Mankini is standing in this week, stating that they will use stand-ins until they find a permanent solution.
Mzokoloko previously left Gagasi FM and joined Ukhozi FM in 2019, before joining Vuma FM in 2022. Now he has left Vuma FM and returned to Gagasi FM as a prodigal son.
Vuma FM also made headlines in 2025 when it parted ways with one of its top presenters, Jacinta Ngobese Zuma, who was one of their well-known and successful presenters.
