Gospel legend Andile KaMajola said he hasn't given up on his dream of becoming the first gospel artist to fill Moses Mabhida Stadium and believes the right time will come.

LEGENDARY gospel star Andile KaMajola is not giving up on his dream of filling Moses Mabhida Stadium.

His biggest wish is to become the first gospel singer to fill the Durban stadium in KZN.

For now, Andile said he's taking things slowly and focusing on other projects that he sees as blessings and building blocks towards achieving his dream.

The multi-award-winning artist said that after 27 years in the music industry, he still receives blessing after blessing.

"I haven't given up on my dream of filling Moses Mabhida Stadium. But for now, I'm busy with other projects.

"I was lucky enough to be trusted by Joyous Celebration to share a stage with them for the Joyous Celebration 30 Tour. We all know this group is big and international. So, I take this as one of my blessings," he said.

Andile said his hymn book, Uhambo LwamaHubo, which contains more than 400 of his hit songs, is doing well.

"My main purpose was to take my fans with me through my musical journey. I've written songs that carry messages of faith and worship.

"This book, which I launched in 2024, will be enjoyed even by future generations. It is evidence that my music consists of testimonies and life-changing experiences. It's part of healing and praise," said the founder of Durban's All Nations Cathedral International Church.

Learning from the past

In 2015, Andile attempted to fill Moses Mabhida Stadium when he recorded the DVD for his album Nanoma Niyangibona.

However, things didn't go as planned because fewer people attended.

He said it was not the right time.

"Sometimes we plan things on our own, whereas God has other plans. What happened that year didn't take away my faith. It was a learning experience.

"That's why I'm careful now not to rush things," he said.

Over the years, the legendary singer has released songs that have made a lasting impact on Mzansi's gospel music industry.

Songs including UJehova Ungibiyele, Ngendlala Indumiso and Ebukhoneni BeNkosi have earned him many achievements, including Crown Gospel Music Awards and a place in the SABC Song of the Year competition.
