Actress Katlego Danke opens up about her spiritual journey and how it has influenced her career choices in the entertainment industry.

Former Generations actress Katlego Danke says her faith has reshaped how she defines success.

MEDIA personality Katlego Danke has revealed that faith has influenced some of her biggest acting career decisions.

The former Generations star said she turns down roles that don't align with her calling, including turning down acting roles that conflicted with her religious convictions.

Speaking during an interview on Unveiled with Koketso podcast, she shared how her spiritual awareness developed over the years and ultimately reshaped her understanding of success, purpose and identity.

Katlego described herself as a prophetic dreamer.

She's been spiritually sensitive from a young age, even before she understood what she was experiencing.

"I've always been aware of the spiritual realm, even though I didn't have the vocabulary for it. I'd walk into a room and immediately feel uncomfortable because I could sense spirits. At the time, I thought everyone experienced life that way," she said.

Katlego first noticed these experiences when she was around 11 years old.

As she grew older, she began to understand that what she was feeling was part of a deeper spiritual gift.

The award-winning actress admitted her faith-based journey has come with challenges, including seasons of isolation, loneliness and being misunderstood.

A major turning point came about five to six years ago when she realised her faith could no longer be separated from her professional life.

"For the longest time I treated faith as something separate from my work, but when the Lord truly sat me down, I realised this governs everything. It's the heartbeat of who I am," she said.

This revelation has led her to decline acting roles that conflicted with her religious convictions, even when she desperately needed the work.

"When the role lands, I'm like sorry, I can't take it - and most of the time it's when I really need the job. I really want to take it, but what's a trade of my soul for that job? No thank you, I'm good," she said.

Many of her prophetic dreams only made sense later, often revealing their meaning long after they occur.

"I'm a prophetic dreamer. I had some dreams that at the time I didn't understand them, but as time went on, I was like, oh that's happening and that was what the dream was. It sort of comes later."

The 47-year-old actress built her reputation in Mzansi TV through roles in hit productions, including Generations, Backstage, Gomora and Isidingo.

She's now expanding her portfolio internationally.

Katlego recently appeared in the Netflix series Go! where she plays Mrs Khumalo, marking another milestone in her evolving career that refuses to compromise her calling.
