DJ BONGZ is on a mission to help the next generation of music stars break into the industry.
After more than 25 years in the music business, the award-winning musician, producer and cultural icon has launched the SA Studio Camp.
This nationwide initiative aims to discover, mentor and empower young creatives.
The programme is searching for singers, rappers, producers, songwriters, DJs, musicians and aspiring entertainers who dream of building careers in the music industry.
Speaking about the initiative, DJ Bongz, whose real name is Bongani Dlamini-Ngcobo, said he felt it was time to give back after decades of success in the entertainment industry.
"After so many years in the music business, I felt it was time to give back. There are so many talented young people across South Africa who just need an opportunity, guidance and exposure. This camp is about helping them take that first step," he said.
The Durban edition will kick off in his hometown of KwaNdengezi before expanding to Newcastle, Nongoma, and eventually all nine provinces.
Participants selected for the programme will receive mentorship, professional training, studio experience and opportunities to work alongside established industry figures.

According to DJ Bongz, the initiative goes beyond simply finding talent.
"We want to discover, develop and empower young talent. The goal is to provide mentorship, training, studio experience and industry access so that participants can build sustainable careers in music and entertainment," the musician said.
The star said many talented artists never get the opportunity to access professional studios or learn the business side of the industry.
"I wish I had understood the business side of music earlier. Talent is important, but knowing how to manage your career, protect your work and build relationships is just as important. There are some talented artists who've never been in a professional studio or performed in front of a big audience," he said.
The initiative is being rolled out in partnership with the Nyatee Foundation, which shares a similar vision of youth empowerment and community development.
"The Nyatee Foundation shares our passion for youth empowerment and community development. Together, we can reach more young people and create meaningful opportunities that can change lives," he said.
For the veteran entertainer, success won't be measured by numbers alone.
"Success would be seeing young artists from our communities grow into confident professionals, release music, create jobs and become role models. If we can help even one young person change the direction of their life, then we've achieved something special," he added.
