BOTH wives of polygamist Musa Mseleku have now spoken out about Netflix telenovela The Polygamist — and they have very different views.

Nokukhanya MaYeni Mseleku, the second wife and Uthando Nes’thembu reality star, said the show should not be called The Polygamist because what is being portrayed is not true polygamy.

She said that she does not like the show and how Jonasi played women.

I do not like this show. It is called The Polygamist but what Jonasi, the character that is portrayed by Sdumo Mtshali, is doing is not polygamy. I do not know how I can call it but definitely not polygamy,

—  said MaYeni.

She said that she watched the show after it got popular.

I did not want to watch the show. But after almost everyone talked about it, I changed my mind and watched it. And I could not finish watching it, I was annoyed,

—  she said.

MaCele, the first wife, also made her voice heard, saying that the show is a lesson to both men and women.

She said that it teaches women to make their homes warm and refrain from shouting, confronting and nagging their husbands.

Mseleku, the polygamist who has four wives and a fiance, said that his polygamy cannot be compared to the show.

  • “I live a real life; I am not acting. So, what is happening to a television story
  • cannot be compared to what is really happening to me.
  • I have not even watched the show,” said Mseleku.
